There are 3 main goals for the women once they complete our program.
Regardless if you are low-income, below the poverty line, lone women or a single mom, life-improvement is possible.
1. To create a good life for themselves and their children. The have developed personal, social, financial, career, health& wellness, and mental wellness skills so they can reach their full human potential.
2. Building safe and stronger communities is everyone’s responsibility, learning how to become involved in the community as a way to ‘give back’. It is the key to community growth. Women who come from underserved communities will make a difference, because they can relate first hand, to the challenges and triumphs in these diverse population will face in the variety of different areas of life.
3. Last but not least, the goal for these women is to create a career not just find a job, so they become self-sufficient, career-oriented and employable. Statistics show that people who are on social assistance who just got a job return to welfare (Welfare Toronto 2001). The goal is to stop the cycle of poverty and it is possible, one woman at a time.
