New Beginnings Support Program is governed by a group of dynamic and talented individuals, who have given their time and expertise to further New Beginnings’ mission. Our goal is to create better lives and opportunities for women and their children. Collectively they have over 30 years of experience in: Mental and Physical health, Marketing, Business Management, Sales, Coaching, Career and Vocational Counseling.
Stephen is the Managing Partner, Talent for EY in Canada. He is responsible for leading all facets of the firm’s people strategy for both partners and staff. He is a member of the firm’s Inclusiveness Steering Committee where he co-chairs with the Firm’s Chairman and CEO.
Throughout Stephen’s career he has excelled as a client service partner in both the Audit and most recently the Advisory practice of the firm. He has provided leadership through counselling, mentoring and sponsorship to people within the firm at all levels.
Laura is a CPA with an Honors Business Administration and a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Ivey Business School at Western University. She worked at EY for 4 years in the Assurance practice, with financial service and not-for-profit client experience. Laura now works as the Corporate Responsibility Leader and volunteer program leader for EY Canada. She also leads EY’s Professional Women’s Network. Laura is passionate about helping all women, particularly those who face barriers in life, reach their full potential.
Paul Hartford is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional working as a Health & Safety Consultant with Workplace Safety & Prevention Services, a key player in the Ontario occupational health & safety system.

Kahlia Castelle is a training and development professional who is currently employed as a Manager of Learning & Curriculum Development with the largest membership association for financial advisors and planners in Canada. Kahlia is a certified Teacher of English as a Second Language (TESL), and volunteers as a career mentor with numerous nonprofit organizations across Ontario. She is passionate about empowering vulnerable and marginalized groups to raise their level of autonomy, develop social resilience and reach economic self-reliance. Kahlia is committed to helping build sustainable communities.
